Philip L. Leggett, M.D. is a native Houstonian and true pioneer of growth in Laparoendoscopic, or minimally invasive surgery. For more than 25 years, Dr. Leggett has been caring for his patients, is Board certified in General and Laparoendoscopic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery and International College of Surgeons. Because of Dr. Leggett’s expertise he is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at University of Texas Houston and Galveston and trains two fellows per year. Dr. Leggett has also been designated as a Center of Excellence Surgeon.

Aside from Dr. Leggett’s strong dedication to his patients he also values giving back to the community. Dr. Leggett has been a Life Member of Houston Livestock show and Rodeo since 1991, the Steer Auction committee since 1992 and is an elected member of the Board of Directors. He is on the Board of Directors for both the Elves and More and Mary Jane Hamilton Foundations, and is now a member of the Honorary Lifetime Board of Directors for Boys and Girls Country of Houston.

Dr. Leggett and his staff express an abundance of compassion and concern for the care and well-being of his patients. Dr. Leggett truly works hard at building a patient/physician bond and making sure the patient fully understands his treatment plan.
