Dr. Bapat’s pioneering work at the cardiac cath lab at South East Memorial Hospital has lead to his role as a leader there and established its reputation for excellence within the medical community. The critical roles Dr. Bapat has played on ethics and cardiology committees have accredited him with the title “Physician of the Year in 2007,” but for more than accolades, Dr. Bapat genuinely cares for his patients. Even after nearly 20 years in Houston, his primary concerns, as a cardiologist are still about educating his patients on the subject of their conditions and to alleviate their worries in the process.
With developments in the field of cardiology rapidly advancing, Dr. Bapat maintains an enduring position at the cutting-edge. He enlists the use of a cardiac nuclear lab, an echocardiography facility, and a stress test to generate an accurate diagnosis every time. He works as a professor at UT and Baylor Universities and is a Fellow at numerous esteemed cardiology associations.
