Dr. Ka-Ron Y. Wade, BS, RN, BSN, DDS, has a number of professional credentials behind her name. Earning her undergraduate degree in biology at Wiley College and then going on to Texas Woman’s University to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Dr. Wade spent several years working in the field of nursing. However, dentistry was her true calling and after successfully pursuing a doctorate of dental surgery, she began her solo practice in cosmetic dentistry in 1999 and has never looked back.
“Our advanced cosmetic training and our dedication to a quality smile, make us different from other cosmetic dentists,” says Dr. Wade. “From dental implants to Invisalign, from dental veneers to teeth whitening and from treating TMJ disorders to advanced cosmetic dentistry, we work hard to achieve the highest in dental standards for our patients’ overall well-being.”
In addition to her extensive knowledge, Dr. Wade, a veteran of the US Army who served as a dental officer and retired with the rank of captain, has received many accolades. Among those honors, she is the recipient of Houston Citizen’s Chamber of Commerce 2009 Pinnacle Award and was named as a Houston Top Dentist in 2009 and 2012. Dr. Wade was also the recipient of the Steed Society’s 2012 Top 25 Women of Houston and one of the Top 50 Black Healthcare Professionals in Houston. Most recently Dr. Wade has been named a premier preferred provider for Invisalign. She is a member of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston and also a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She was the first African American female to be featured on the cover of Doctor of Dentistry magazine for dentists.
Believing in giving back to her community, Dr. Wade founded the Houston Medi-Dent Mobile Health Corporation, a non-profit organization providing free dental services to those in socio-economically under-served communities. “It is a privilege to work in the field of dentistry and I am grateful for my ability to help people achieve the smile they’ve always dreamed of,” she says. “We are changing the world one smile at a time.”
