In “the service of care” is a philosophy rooted in Dr. Sandeep Mammen’s personal commitment and history. After receiving his doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, he answered a call to serve our country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He completed his residency with the Army and then served as officer in charge at two Korean U.S. Military bases and completed his final year as a staff general dentist at West Point Military Academy.

After his military service, Dr. Mammen helped open and develop the dental department at East Hartford Community HealthCare as the center’s first dental director where he was instrumental in developing a standard for dental care for the community. In 2005, he became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (F.A.G.D), an honor only a small percentage of dentists have received.

Dr. Mammen’s sense of service has spread from country to community to patient, where he and his team are committed to “changing lives, one smile at a time.”
