Dr. Van Slate received his doctorate in 1989 from the UT Dental Branch in Houston and is a Fellow of the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute. He is one of a few Texas dentists formally trained in neuromuscular dentistry, which uses computer technology to examine the muscles that control jaw position – a dominant factor when contemplating reconstructive procedures, cosmetic dentistry or treating head and neck pain. Dr. Van Slate is recognized as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and has been featured on FOX News for two “Houston Extreme Makeover” segments.
