Dagnee “Dee” McKinney

Personal Injury, Criminal Defense & Family Law

Prosecutors, insurance companies, and opposing counsel have all served to place Dagnee “Dee” McKinney up against some tough opponents over the past 13 years. Experience working at two large, Houston law firms provided the background she needed to open her own practice. She now focuses on personal injury, criminal defense, and family law. Success breeds attention, like being featured in “Who’s Who in Black Houston” and being one of H Texas’ “Lawyers for the People” four years in a row.  Dee says she puts her clients first, making a promise to do her “very best”, which is no small matter.

When Dee was an undergrad, she pursued Legal Studies from the University of St. Thomas where she also earned a Master’s degree in Education. Her law degree comes from South Texas College of Law, 1998, where she also earned the Corpus Juris Secundum award for excellence in Torts. She is past and present member of many trial lawyer associations including the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Texas, Houston and American Bar Associations. She is also a past President of the Fort Bend County Young Lawyers Association.

Dee has represented some of Houston’s newsworthy on sensitive matters, and it’s her “diplomacy”, she says, that has brought praise from judges for not turning her cases into media spectacles.
