Description: Shell Eco-marathon Americas – a global program that challenges teams of high school and college students to design, build and test the most energy-efficient vehicles – is back in Houston for the fourth straight year.
New to Shell Eco-marathon Americas this year is an interactive learning experience that provides visitors who are interested in engineering and technology a unique opportunity to engage with energy solutions through hands-on displays and activities. In addition to the vehicle challenge, this year’s event will include:
·        A “Mobility Footprint Zone” that includes a kinetic dance floor and gives visitors the opportunity to race toy cars that are powered by salt water.
·        Formula1 Car Display – Come out to Discovery Green and see the Shell Formula1 car!
·        Yellow Brick Road Tour – Take your family on this self-guided tour through Shell Eco-marathon Americas while learning about the past, present and future of energy and what we can do to help address the world’s growing energy demand.
·        mPowering Action Mobile Recording Studio – Debuted at the 2013 Grammy’s, the mPowering mobile recording studio will be making a stop in Houston to allow Shell Eco-marathon Americas visitors the opportunity to record songs or messages about their energy solutions for the future.
