Now that we’ve watched George ride away and waved goodbye to all of our favorite fried fair foods, we Houstonians are experiencing a little of what we like to call a “Rodeo Hangover.” Not to fear, the springtime is the best time to get out and experience all our great city has to offer. In case your readers need a reminder, here are some events happening around town that will cure your Rodeo blues:
Crawfish Boil: Goode Company and the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation will host the inaugural “Craw-Wish Boil” at Goode’s Armadillo Palace on May 11th from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. With live music, door prizes, and unlimited crawfish and beer for just $25 ($30 at the door) there’s no better way to spend a sunny Saturday than with Goode Company.
Art Festival: The Bayou City Art Festival is finally here! This Friday through Sunday, pack up the kids and head out to Memorial Park for a day of good food, live music, and hunting for treasure among the more than 300 artists on-site. Kids can even create their own art masterpieces!
Hoppy Easter: Washington bar Little J’s is hosting a special Easter celebration on Easter Sunday with jello shots served in plastic eggs and other drink specials. Come get hoppy with Little J’s vast beer selection!
Blues Concert: We can’t wait to visit Discovery Green on Wednesdays for lunch from now until April 24th for their signature ‘Blues and Burgers‘ series featuring a blues concert and delicious burgers from their famous grill. Take an extra long lunch, we won’t tell.
