PAMELA WRIGHT credits her family, 11th-generation Georgians, for her desire to help others. A 35-year Houston resident, she is the co-founder and owner of Wright Pawn and Jewelry, a 10-time Better Business Bureau Winner of Distinction and a three-time Houston Press Best Pawnshop recipient. Combining her love of Texas with her jewelry expertise, Pamela created the Texas Front Porch pin, that was selected by First Lady Anita Perry to benefit the Governor’s Mansion Restoration Fund. Her jewelry designs have been celebrated by Nancy Reagan, Alma Powell, Anita Perry and other national figures, to name a few. Pamela has chaired numerous charitable events in Houston for such organizations as Houston Children’s Charity and Citizens for Animal Protection, but her first love and 32-year commitment has been to the Daughters of the American Revolution. She has served as Lady Washington Chapter Centennial Regent (the largest chapter in the world), State Regent of Texas (the largest state society in the world) and currently and until 2019, is Chaplain General, NSDAR (the third-highest office in the national society with 183,000 members). It was Pamela’s grandmother who had urged her to join DAR so that she would have friends with similar interests of historic preservation, education and patriotism through service to God, home and country.
