ALICE MOSING credits her mother for inspiring her to help make a difference in people’s lives, especially children. Her volunteer work began through her church-going to impoverished areas of the city to give food to single mothers and to inform them of various programs to better themselves and their children. Soon, she became involved with the Chuck Norris Kick Drugs Out of America, now known as Kickstart Kids. Alice has been on the Advisory Board for the University of St. Thomas Mardi Gras gala, which helps to provide scholarships for students. Alice and her husband Keith are both aviators, and their love for flying led them to start the D. Keith and Alice Mosing Scholarship Foundation at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide, enabling deserving students to attend the University, often referred to as the “Harvard of the Skies.” Alice is a co-director of the board of the Space Center Houston and has co-chaired the inaugural Galaxy Gala; she is also co-chairing the Galaxy Gala this year, which will benefit the newest exhibit, “Mission to Mars,” and help to expand the Space Center’s award-winning STEM education programs. Alice and Keith support Texas Children’s Hospital—the Fetal Care Unit has been named for them.
